HiNotes Release v1.3.0 is here for all of you, MeetingHackers, - especially professionals who need highly customized prompts for meeting summaries.
This release introduces three major updates along with a handful of minor improvements. Customize your meeting templates to suit your exact needs. Choose between Claude 3.5 Sonnet and ChatGPT-4o. Experience the brand-new summary flow that allows you to refine transcripts and speaker names before summarizing, with the option to re-summarize as many of you asked for.
A. Customizable Prompts for Summary Templates
In our last release, HiNotes v1.2.0, we introduced 20+ summary templates across four categories to help you get the most out of your meeting notes. Now, with HiNotes v1.3.0, we're taking it further—empowering you to fully customize your summaries to suit your unique needs!
How It Works:
1. Head over to "Profile" -> "Summary Templates" and choose an existing template. Tap "Customize Now" to start making it yours.
2. Select a transcript, craft your custom prompt, and generate your summary. You can refine it until it’s just right, then save it as your own template.
Now you have total control over how your summaries digest or expand, making every meeting note more relevant, actionable, and perfectly aligned with your purpose.
B. Claude 3.5 Sonnet
Claude 3.5 Sonnet, developed by Anthropic, is an advanced AI language model that excels in natural language processing tasks like summarization, answering questions, and generating contextual responses. It’s designed to be especially conversational, providing nuanced, human-like outputs, and it’s known for its safety measures in generating responses that are helpful, accurate, and less prone to bias or unexpected behaviors.
With v1.3.0, HiNotes offers user the choice between ChatGPT4o and Claude 3.5 Sonnet when generate the meeting summary.
Claude boasts a significantly larger context window than ChatGPT, (200,000 characters versus 128,000).
This means it can remember and analyze a much larger chunk of previous conversation or text, leading to more nuanced and relevant responses, especially across longer interactions. Claude is also trained to prioritize accuracy over creativity in its responses.
GPT-4o, on the other hand, offers users a wider variety of functions, a larger knowledge base and access the web to find the most up-to-date information available, not just the data it was trained on. GPT-4o is more adept at generating creative content across images, text, and audio than Claude.
Using Claude 3.5 Sonnet ensures that longer, detail-focused meetings are summarized accurately and cohesively, with minimal risk of omitting essential points.
Choose ChatGPT-4o if you need detailed, expressive summaries that capture complex discussions in depth, or if you prefer a slightly faster response for standard summarization needs.
C. Re-designed Transcription and Summary Flow
We've heard your feedback: an effective, actionable summary begins with an accurate transcript and clear speaker identification. To help you capture insights more effectively, HiNotes now offers a refined summary flow that allows you to review and adjust transcripts before generating your summary.
Here's How It Works:
- Connect and Transcribe: Connect HiDock to HiNotes, select a recording to transcribe manually, or enable auto-transcription for ease.
- Review and Refine: After transcription, review the transcript for any errors, like misspelled names or key terms. Make adjustments and rename speakers as needed.
- Select Your AI and Template: Choose between AI engines and select a meeting template to shape the summary to your needs. You can also fully customize the template for a unique result.
- Generate and Fine-Tune: Produce your AI summary and check if it meets your expectations.
Re-summarize
If your summary isn't quite good, you can now re-summarize it to get the perfect result. This highly anticipated update is available to all users, giving you more flexibility to create summaries that are just right.
D. Vocabulary
A custom vocabulary is a set of specific words, abbreviations, or phrases that you can provide in advance to enhance the transcription engine's accuracy. Tailor your transcription to recognize terms unique to your domain, business, or meeting type—ensuring more precise and relevant results.
Head over to "Profile" -> "Vocabulary". Tap "Add word" to start making your list.
With v1.3.0, you can add and correct vocabulary directly within your notes—whether it's in the title, transcript, or summary. Enjoy the flexibility to make edits wherever needed, making it easier than ever to ensure accurate, relevant transcriptions.
